NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING (NLP)
Pracitioner
Lyn Atkins, Harriet Graham
Brief explanation of the therapy
NLP is a therapy
which explores the relationship between the brain (neuro), language
(linguistic) and the patterns of behaviour that we learn (programming). The therapist will try to educate their client
in the positive links between these in order to encourage changes in behaviour
patterns which will help them achieve specific goals and improve the quality of
their life.
What can the
client expect at the appointment
At the first
appointment the client will be asked to discuss the problems that they wish to
deal with in a calm and confidential environment.
What will happen
in a session
The client will be
asked to give details and discuss the changes that they are looking to make in
their lives. The therapist will then
suggest models that they might introduce which will effect a change. A session will last approximately one hour.
How many sessions
should the client need before they see a result
NLP, which can be
combined with hypnotherapy, is a safe
and gentle way of resolving issues and can often work very quickly; many issues
may only take two sessions.
What can the therapy
help
NLP is often used
to help the following:
- Addictions
- Building confidence & self esteem
- Preparation for interviews
- Fears & Phobias
- Helping with decision making
- Helping with exam worries
- Improving sporting ability
- Stress
- Weight issues
