Joanna Hazelton
Having grown up within an army family and moved between West Africa, Germany & the UK as a child, Joanna continued her "wanderlust" into adulthood with separate stints in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, for three years and two years respectively, and then onto South Africa for about ten years, returning in 1986 to London. In between she visited Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Mexico, Jamaica, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Botswana and finally Kerala in India. Throughout these journeys she came across a variety of healing methods, which she believes started to coalesce when she left London and the corporate world where she had been working, and came back down to the West Country (having been born in Devon) to start retraining in alternative therapy.
Her initial training was in the Bowen Technique, which remains her core therapy, but she then added massage in various forms - though most clients tend towards remedial massage - as well as naturopathy and Reiki. She has recently embarked on a course in homeopathy.
She believes that she has found a path of learning and healing that will continue with her, where ever she travels, until it is time for her to take her leave!
She feels that the real joy of natural therapies is that they interlink and lead one forward constantly into new areas and possibilities. She is a firm believer of integrated medicine as she feels that every individual deserves the best of the traditional and the new, and indeed the discovered learning that breaks upon our consciousness each year.
