AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

Practitioners

Louise Byford

Brief explanation of the therapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils in a deeply relaxing, therapeutic, full body massage.  A blend of essential oils is carefully selected to suit each individual’s needs.  The treatment enhances the body’s natural healing abilities and helps eliminate toxins.  Aromatherapy is an effective preventative treatment helping to balance mind, body and spirit.

Essential oils are extracted from flowers, herbs, spices, etc.   They have a wide variety of healing properties.  The essential oils are diluted in a carrier oil such as jojoba or wheatgerm oil.

What can the client expect at the appointment

To receive a deeply relaxing full body massage, wrapped in warm towels and blankets whilst drifting off to relaxing music (or silence if preferred!).  After the treatment you will feel very relaxed and it is best to take the rest of the day gently if possible in order to obtain the full benefit of the treatment.

What happens in a session

The initial treatment includes a 15 minute consultation followed by a 1 hour full body massage.  Follow up treatments last for one hour.  Oils are selected for the client’s specific needs to enhance the treatment.

Please note that anything discussed during the consultation and treatment is entirely confidential.

How many sessions should the client need before they see a result

Everyone is different and therefore responds uniquely to treatment.  It also depends how long a condition has existed.  There will be a feeling of relaxation and calm after the first treatment and physical aches and pains can start to improve after the first treatment.  Benefits are increased with regular treatment even if every couple of months but benefits will be felt after a one-off treatment.

What can the therapy help

Aromatherapy is recommended for relieving conditions such as:
  • stress
  • headaches
  • insomnia
  • eczema
  • muscular aches and pains
  • backache
  • arthritis
  • depression
  • poor circulation
and many more.

Who would benefit from this type of therapy

Everybody would benefit from regular Aromatherapy massage or even a one-off treatment to enable them to deal more effectively with the stresses and strains of their everyday lives.

If you would like to book a session of Aromatherapy Massage it is advisable to contact the practitioners directly as they book their own sessions in at Nine Springs,
