THAI YOGA MASSAGE

Practitioner
Louise Byford
Brief explanation of the therapy
Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient form of healing that originated in Northern
India and was then practiced in Thailand around 25BC along with Buddhism.
Combining acupressure and gentle yogic stretching, this unique massage therapy
rhythmically stimulates the ‘ten sen’ energy line system.
What can the client expect at the appointment
A full consultation will take place prior to any treatment.
The massage is floor based on a futon and loose comfortable clothes are worn.
What happens in a session
A full massage consists of slow rhythmic palming and thumbing of feet, legs,
arms, hands, abdomen and back, gently applied yoga stretches and acupressure,
finishing with a relaxing facial massage.
The foot and hand massage concentrates on acupressure points and is a good
soothing alternative for those short of time.
How many sessions should the client need before they see a result
This very much depends on the individual. Most people feel immediately relaxed
and energized but It can take a few days for the energy to rebalance and the
receiver can experience the beneficial effects for sometime after the
treatment.
To keep the body and energy flow in balance the treatment is recommended once a
month or as often as needed. If there are conditions that require particular
attention then a course of treatments would be recommended.
What can the therapy help
Thai Yoga Massage intuitively treats the individual’s body as a whole,
releasing blockages and restoring a free flow of energy, supportively assisting
the body in its natural tendency towards self -healing. Therefore the therapy
can help many physical and stress related problems.
As it involves gentle stretching, many people find it helps keep the body
supple and the deep acupressure releases muscle tension
