I qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in the summer of 1990 and moved to Dorset with my husband, Richard, in the same year. I started working with Alex Gibbs in November 1990 and I have enjoyed being part of Glencairn House Clinic ever since, watching it grow from a small osteopathic clinic to the multi disciplinary clinic that it is today. In the autumn of 2012 I was fortunate enough to be invited by Elizabeth to join the team of Osteopaths working at Nine Springs Clinic. This was especially exciting to me because it enabled me to expand my interest in working with the craniosacral mechanism. With Elizabeth as Practice Principal and mentor I have developed my understanding of this approach to osteopathic healthcare. The strong ties that exist between Elizabeth and the local Health Visitors has enable me to really develop my passion for working with expectant mums and with babies, toddlers and children. I find craniosacral techniques are also a fabulous way to approach patients suffering from TMJ dysfunction, headaches, migraines, whiplash and many other conditions. In July 2015 I enrolled on a 2 year Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy to keep me up to date with the most recent theories of osteopathic treatment of children. Many of the acquired skills are directly applicable to adults also.

Richard and I have two daughters, both now Graduated and working away from home; one in the Healthcare in Winchester, one in Business Consultancy in London. As a family we still enjoy meeting for hillwalking holidays or for days of watersport. I have a beloved, and sadly aging, Cocker Spaniel who is always up for a country stroll and in my quieter moments I enjoy crafts of all kinds. Over the years I have dabbled in dance and singing but, let us be honest, it is not for public appreciation.

With my girls now making their own way in the world I am entering an exciting phase of my career with more time available to commit to the well being of my patients.

Anita is working at Nine Springs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
