General Information about the course
There is a taster session for those who might be interesteed in starting the next course, this will be held on Tuesday 20th March from 5pm - 7pm.
The next course will then begin on Tuesday 24th April and runs for eight weeks - there will be no session on Tuesday 5th June and the last sesssion will be Tuesday 19th June. It also includes a morning workshop on Sunday 20th May from 9.30am - 1pm.
Mindfulness practises have been developed from meditation techniques. They help to teach you to begin to pay attention to the present moment - the "now" - and help you to find time for just being.
The core skills that you will learn will help you to pay attention in a non-judgemental way to what goes on in the present moment in your body, mind and the world around you. They will help you to start to see things in a different way and will help provide you with the tools and strength to face challenges. Mindfulness can help to give your more self confidence, help you learn to relax and enjoy life in a more fulfilling way. Research has shown that it can be used to help manage anxiety, depression, stress and chronic pain.
The course will last eight weeks and will include:
- Initial discussion by telephone
- Eight weekly sessions of two hours' duration
- A course handbook
- CDs to use for home practice
- A week-end Mindfulness morning
- Ongoing support during the course
The cost of the eight week course is £195
